Permit application for the importation of an animal of foreign origin
It is prohibited to import or release to the wild bird or mammal species of foreign origin as well as game animal strains or foreign origin without the permit of the Finnish Wildlife Agency.
A statement on the permit application will be requested from the Finnish Environment Institute by the Finnish Wildlife Agency. The permit must be refused if significant harm may be caused by the measure to the natural environment or fauna. Orders on how the import and release to the wild are to be carried out may be issued in the permit.
The provisions of subsection 1 also apply to bringing an animal from the Province of Åland to another part of Finland and to the release of the animal to the wild there.
